Report: We Held the TMAC Summer Program

Tokushima University has an academic agreement with Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) in Malaysia, and has established the Tokushima University UTeM Academic Center (TMAC) office.
From August 17 to 30, we held the TMAC Design Workshop (DW) and English Camp (EC) at UTeM, with 6 Tokushima University students participating in the DW and 8 in the EC. In the DW, students built robots using LEGO, programmed them to move, and held a sumo tournament in which two teams competed against each other. In the EC, students took English classes taught by UTeM faculty and introduced Japanese culture to UTeM students who are learning Japanese.
Fifteen UTeM students took part in the TMAC program from beginning to end, allowing the students to deepen their exchange with one another. Learning and using English on-site also helped students acquire practical, living English skills.
Alongside the TMAC Summer Program, UTeM's Intensive Japanese Course was also held concurrently, in which Tokushima University's Japanese language teaching faculty taught Japanese language and culture to 23 UTeM students.
This year marked the 13th time this TMAC program has been held, and Tokushima University will continue to strengthen its relationships with overseas partner universities, including UTeM, and actively promote student exchange going forward.
