On August 4th, 2025, the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science hosted the J-PEAKS Symposium 2025. At the venue, 13 universities selected for the 2024 program presented case studies and engaged in exchanges between the selected universities, actively sharing the distinctive research activities and collaborative efforts of each university.
President Kawamura of Tokushima University took the stage and gave a lecture titled "Bringing together the research capabilities of photonics, medicine, nutrition, and information science to tackle the challenges of a super-aging society facing the world." In his lecture, he introduced Tokushima University's efforts related to J-PEAKS, examples of research conducted through industry-academia collaboration, and shared his outlook for the future.
