Leakage of Personal Information through the Career Support Office Reservation System

 

To all students and graduates,

We hereby inform you that we have recognized the fact that personal information of students and graduates who used the University's Career Support Office Reservation System has been leaked on the Internet.

On Monday, August 1, 2022, we received a report from a university staff member that personal information, which should not be disclosed outside the university, was available on the Internet, and we investigated the situation. As a result of system modification for functional expansion, the information of students who used the Career Support Office Reservation System became viewable, and the personal information of students became viewable on the Internet between July 5, 2022 and August 3, 2022. On August 3, we immediately contacted the relevant authorities and took measures to make the information unreadable. We also requested the deletion of the cache data of the web search engine, and have confirmed that the personal information in question, including the cache data, has been deleted from the web by the morning of August 3.

The personal information that was leaked included the names, genders, and departments of students and graduates who used the Career Support Office reservation system at the time of enrollment. At this time, we have not confirmed that the personal information in question has been used in any unauthorized manner. If you receive any suspicious contacts or solicitations, please contact us at the contact information below.

We deeply apologize for the inconvenience and concern this incident has caused all concerned.

We have made every effort to ensure strict handling and management of personal information in our operations, but in light of the information leakage, we will do our utmost to prevent a recurrence by further tightening our controls.
