With the aim of achieving a sustainable regional community, we seek to foster people engaged in the creation of an environmentally harmonious community that comprehensively fuses and maintains the cultural、social and natural environments. At the same time, we aim to train educators and researchers, and professional practitioners who will play a role in regional revitalization and reconstruction.

The Graduate School of Integrated Arts and Sciences was reorganized in 2009 for the purpose of further substantiation of Integrated Sciences of Community Development Studies in response to the integration of intellect required by large-scale social changes.

The Master's Course is offered in the disciplines of Regional Sciences (Community Development Studies, Environmental Symbiosis Studies, and Advanced Studies in Arts and Sciences) and Clinical Psychology, while the Doctral Course is offered in the discipline of Regional Science.

The Regional Science course promotes research and education with a comprehensive, interdisciplinary approach to train experts capable of city and community design. The Clinical Psychology Course, on the other hand, aims to train experts capable of contributing to the solutions of psychological problems in cooperation with the field of Regional Science.

Course of Regional Sciences

The Course of Regional Sciences aims to foster practitioners and researchers who can bring theoretical and practical interdisciplinary skills to bear on solving the issues of sustainable local redevelopment such as depopulation, overpopulation and environmental degradation, through the organic integration of relevant basic and applied sciences.

Course of Clinical Psychology

The Course of Clinical Psychology aims to foster specialist personnel who can resolve the growing psychological issues of a changing social environment such as parenting support against a background of declining birth rates, school bullying, social withdrawal, social participation of youth, promoting the physical and mental health of those in the prime of life, and combating the isolation of regions with aging and declining populations. In addition, this course is authorized by the Foundation of the Japanese Certification Board for Clinical Psychologists as a graduate school (Type 1) that can qualify students to take the clinical psychologist examinations.
