International Student Center of the University of Tokushima was established on April 1, 2002 as an inter-faculty educational and research institution. The center performs two main services: one is to provide foreign students with Japanese language education and socio-cultural instruction, and the other is to give information, guidance, and other necessary support for Japanese students who want to study abroad. The Center also conducts surveys and researches regarding foreign student education. The center plays an important role in promoting international exchanges and enhancing mutual understanding among international students, local communities and the University of Tokushima.

The University of Tokushima provides housing for international students and visiting scholars. Built in 1995, the International House has 32 rooms for singles (12m2), 15 rooms for couples (40m2), and 3 rooms for families (59m2). All rooms have beds, desks, chairs, bookcases, refrigerators, bureaus and closet space. Rooms for couples and families have cooking facilities. Application for accommodation in the International House should be addressed to the Section of International Student Affairs of the University.
