Following two types of application methods are available for applicant's convenience
1. Online application mainly for applicants residing outside Japan
2. Application by mail for applicants residing in Japan

Please be aware that you need to follow the application procedures required of the application method you selected.

 

Online Application

Online application is basically for applicants who are residing outside Japan but available also for those who are residing in Japan. If you select the online application method, please fill in the attached application form and email it to the International Affairs Division and the section in charge in the graduate school you wish to enter. In this method, payment of the examination fee should be made by credit card or China UnionPay Card.

Application materials other than the application form must arrive at the University by mail within the application period. Application procedures will be completed when all of your application materials have been received by the University and confirmed that there is no flaws or missing materials in them. Please be aware that registering to apply online does not constitute the completion of application procedures. If you are an applicant residing outside Japan and have difficulty in making an online application, please contact the International Affairs Division immediately to the address below:

Application by mail

This method is mainly for applicants who are residing in Japan. The applicants who chose this method are required to pay the examination fee at a JP Bank or a Post Office in Japan using the payment slip designated by the University and to submit the certificate of payment of the examination fee (Kenteiryo Haraikomi Shomeisho ) along with the other application materials by mail.

Studying at the Graduate School

The online application site is scheduled to open in.

Upon making an online application, please ensure that you have;
1. A printer (for printing out the necessary forms)
2. An email address (for receiving the application confirmation email and the ID and password information email for the examination fee payment screen)
*Cellular phone email address will not be accepted.

Please be aware that registering to apply online does not constitute the completion of application procedures.
*Please let us know if you have difficulties making an online application.
*Please apply in paper format for the preliminary review for application eligibility.

 

◎Application Procedures

Applications will be accepted during the period from until .

 

○Application Materials

Application materials must be submitted by mail during the application period after making an online application and the payment of the examination fee.

1. Exam Admission Card

Print out the application form which appears after entering the necessary information on the application site.

2. Examinee Photo Card

Affix a 4 x 3 cm photograph of your upper body-no hats, facing front, taken within 3 months prior to your application, to the appropriate spot on the photo card printed out along with the application form. Your name and the school of your choice should be written on the back of the photo.

3. Examination Fee: 30000 yen

(9800 yen for research students)

*Not required of the Japanese government-sponsored foreign students.

 

Payment Methods

 

1. Pay the examination fee following the instructions below.

1) Open up “Entering the Graduate Schools” on the University of Tokushima portal site for international students.

2) Click “7. Pay the Examination Fee” of “Steps for Enrollment”.

3) Enter the ID and password and take the payment procedure from DISCO’s payment screen.

2. Payment can be made by credit card (VISA, MasterCard, JCB, AMERICAN EXPRESS, etc.) and by China UnionPay Card.

3. Any processing fees should be borne by the payer.

4. The customer’s copy of the receipt or payment completion email issued when the payment was made should be printed out and kept as the applicant’s proof of payment.

*Payment by a credit card or China UnionPay Card is available only for applicants residing outside Japan. Applicants residing inside Japan should make their payments at a post office or a JP Bank inside Japan using the payment slip attached to the application guidebook of the University of Tokushima.

Examination fee will not be refunded under any circumstances once it has been paid

Notes:

Be sure to read all instructions and notes before making the online application.

Upon using the online application page, you will need a printer to print out necessary documents and an email address (a mobile phone email address will not be accepted) that can be used to receive the application confirmation email and examination fee payment completion email. Be sure that you have an access to printer and an email address ready before starting application procedures.

(2) Enter the necessary information in accordance with the on-screen instructions

(3) If you accurately enter all of the necessary information, an application confirmation email will be sent to the email address you provided

2. Payment of the Examination Fee

(1) Pay the examination fee following the instructions below.

1) Open up “Entering the Graduate Schools” on the University of Tokushima portal site for international students.

2) Click “7. Pay the Examination Fee” of “Steps for Enrollment”.

3) Enter the ID and password and take the payment procedure from DISCO’s payment screen.

(2) Payment can be made by credit card (VISA, MasterCard, JCB, AMERICAN EXPRESS, etc.) or by China UnionPay Card.

(3) A processing fee will be charged in addition to the examination fee.

Note: If you are unable to pay by credit card and are residing outside Japan at the time of application, ask the person listed as your “contact person” to make an application on your behalf following the procedure described in the application guidebook and make payment of the examination fee using the payment slip attached to the application guidebook of the University of Tokushima.

3. Mailing the Application Materials

(1) Submit the application form generated after making the online application and any other necessary documents via mail in an envelope on which the address label that was printed out along with the application form is affixed. Be aware that application materials must arrive at the university during the application acceptance period.

(2) Application procedures will not be completed until all of your application materials have been received by the university. Please be aware that registering to apply online does not constitute the completion of application procedures.

Note: Application materials will not be accepted if they arrive at the university after the application deadline. Be sure to allow enough time for postal service delivery.

 

○Notes for Application

1. Be aware that incomplete application materials will not be accepted.

2. Admission can be cancelled if a false statement is found in the application form or in other application materials.

3. Submitted application materials will not be returned to applicants for any reason once they are received.

〈Preliminary Review for Application Eligibility〉

Individuals applying based on the qualification which requires undergoing a
preliminary review for qualification eligibility should apply for this review before
making the online application using the form bound in the application guidelines.
