Tokushima University Summer Program 2016 Social Event

On August 5, a social event for the participants of the Tokushima University Summer Program 2016 was held at the Pacific Harbor. This year’s Summer Program comprises three courses offered by the Faculty of Integrated Arts and Sciences, the Graduate School of Advanced Technology and Science, and the International Center. Seventy-seven students from six countries and regions took part in lectures, exchanges with Japanese students and staff, culture workshops and other activities.

Exchanges took place in various languages, with the participants helping each other out to achieve communication. Rather than giving up because due to lack of understanding, the participants showed that they recognized the need to make an effort to convey their thoughts, and to understand each other.

The presence of talented students who have aspired to study abroad in Tokushima is expected to motivate the Japanese students at the university to consider study abroad and to play an active role on the world stage.
