The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Latvia Visits the University


On October 9, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Latvia, Mr. Normans Penke, visited Tokushima University and toured Regional and international Exchange Hall which was completed this autumn.

Associate Professor Donald Sturge of the Faculty of Integrated Arts and Sciences is involved in exchanges with the Latvia University of Agriculture, and Masataka Nakawa in the fourth year at the Faculty is studying at the University of Latvia. This lead to the relationship with the Latvian embassy and this visit.

In his informal talk with Executive Director Takaishi, the Ambassador offered his congratulations on the opening of the Global Communication Hall. After their meeting, students gave a performance of the Awa Odori dance and exchanged opinions with the Ambassador, which was a very valuable experience for the students.
