2015-3-13

On March 3, the 11th University of Tokushima International Coordination Symposium “The Initiatives of Various Countries in the Age of Globalization” was held.

Recently, Japan is being required to globalize at a higher pace, but what initiatives are other countries taking towards globalization? To answer this question, we invited four former international students from China, Korea, Indonesia and Malaysia who have served as chairpersons of the University of Tokushima International Student Alumni Association, to talk about the initiatives in their respective countries.

Yun-Hae Kim, Vice President of the Korea Maritime and Ocean University, talked about specific initiatives at his university based on the green campus plan that is gaining global traction, and cooperation with their overseas network. The 70 or so students, faculty, staff and local people from Tokushima who attended listened with great interest.

At the end, President Kagawa presented the four former international students with a letter of appreciation and a souvenir of their visit.
