Study tour of Japanese companies

2015-2-18

On February 13, the International Center provided a study tour of Japanese companies as part of its job hunting support for international students.

The purpose of the study tours is for international students to gain a deeper understanding of Japanese companies, and to form a picture of work at a Japanese company by seeing the actual workplaces.

On this occasion, the students visited the JFE Steel Corporation West Japan West Japan Works, and the Mitsubishi Motors Corporation Mizushima Plant in Kurashiki. At the JFE Steel Corporation West Japan Works, the students saw steel plate being made. They appeared surprised at the powerful and precise processes. At the Mitsubishi Motors Corporation Mizushima Plant, they watched robots assembling cars one after the other. This was particularly interesting for students of engineering.

An issue for the future is how to support the employment of international students more realistically through various plans in order to heighten their motivation to work in Japan.
