2014-10-22

On October 14, an opening ceremony was held for the University of Tokushima International Center’s 2014 second semester Japanese language training course, at the Shinkura Campus Community and International Exchange Plaza (Nichia Kaikan). The current 2014 second semester Japanese language training course welcomes six students, from Croatia, Yemen, Kenya, India and China.

The Japanese language training course offers intensive classes for about six months as preparatory education for international students, to enable them to get by in Japanese soon after they arrive in Japan. After completing this term’s course, four of the six students will study at graduate schools at Tokushima, and two intend to study at the Naruto University of Education.

At the opening ceremony, Kazuo Hosoi, Director of the International Center, offered a welcome greeting. Then the trainees introduced themselves briefly, giving their name, country of origin and specialism, using the Japanese that they have just started learning.

On this occasion, Vice-President Chikamori of Naruto University of Education also attended the opening ceremony. Graduates of the Japanese language training course who are currently studying at Naruto University of Education also came to offer encouragement.
