Establishment of the University of Tokushima Education and Research Center in the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology

On 27 June, President Kagawa and a group from the University of Tokushima visited the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST) in Taipei to sign an exchange agreement and to establish the University of Tokushima Education and Research Center.

First President Liao Ching-Jong and President Kagawa took part in a ceremony for the signing of an exchange agreement in the International Center at NTUST. Then President Liao and President Kagawa visited the College of Engineering for a ceremony to unveil the doorplate of the University of Tokushima Education and Research Center to mark its establishment. The signing and unveiling ceremonies were attended by Vice President Lee Duu-Jong and many other officials.

The center was established based on the history of exchanges between the UT Faculty of Engineering and the NTUST College of Engineering and College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. The center will facilitate future joint research and student exchanges. Five joint research projects were inaugurated to mark the signing of the agreement, and in March 2015, UT plans to invite a research unit from NTUST.
