Opening ceremony for the FY2014 first semester Japanese language training course

2014-5-14

On April 11, an opening ceremony was held for the University of Tokushima International Center’s FY2015 first semester Japanese language training course, at the Shinkura Campus Community and International Exchange Plaza (Nichia Kaikan). The current 2014 first semester Japanese language training course welcomes five students, from China, India and Mongolia.

The Japanese language training course offers intensive classes for about six months as preparatory education for international students, to enable them to get by in Japanese soon after they arrive in Japan. The course is held twice a year in the first and second semester, featuring a teaching method unique to the Center that focuses on usable Japanese.

At the opening ceremony, Kazuo Hosoi, Director of the International Center, offered a welcome greeting. Then the trainees introduced themselves briefly, giving their name, country of origin and specialism, using the Japanese that they have just started learning. The entire staff of the Center provide full support to enable all of the international students to express many things in Japanese at the graduation ceremony in August.
