The 2013 May Festival

The University of Tokushima recently held its May Festival on the Josanjima Campus for two days between May 25 and 26. The May Festival is held to welcome the new students who enrolled at Tokushima this spring, and to promote friendship.

From the morning of the May 25, events were held on the stage and in classrooms, and there were many stalls offering refreshments. The stage featured some unique bands and lively dance performances which wowed the crowds.

Students who ran the refreshment stands had some difficulty managing unaccustomed tasks like making octopus dumplings and French fries, but they had a good time working with their friends.

The 30 km walk from JR Kuwano Station to the university took place over May 25 and 26, with about 180 participants providing each other with mutual encouragement to complete the course.
