The Chancellor and other executives of India’s University of Pune make a courtesy call at the University of Tokushima


On March 4, five academics from India made a courtesy call at the University of Tokushima, Dr. A.V. Deshpande, Principal of Kashibai Navale College of Engineering, Dr. Ashok Mahajan Registrar of North Maharashtra University, Dr. K.C. Mohite, Dean of the University of Pune Faculty of Science and Haribhai V. Desai College, Dr. S.W. Gosavi, Professor of Physics at the University of Pune, and Dr. Anand Bhaelrao. Principal of Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University (from right to left in the front row in the photo). Their visit coincided with the International Symposium on Global Engineering Education held at the University of Tokushima Center for International Cooperation in Engineering Education on March 5 in which they participated.

In their discussion, Vice President Noji expressed the opinion that the university must take the initiative in raising its profile in India, while all the members from India explained that Indians are very interested in Japan, creating a strong potential for exchanges of researchers and international students. He expressed a keen interest in future cooperation. The University of Pune Faculties of Technology and Science are scheduled to sign an interdepartmental academic exchange agreement with the Faculty of Engineering at Tokushima in Mayl. In future, students as well as faculty will take part in exchanges.
