The University of Tokushima Faculty of Medicine signs an academic exchange agreement with Tribhuvan University Institute of Medicine

2013-1-18

On December 12, 2012, the University of Tokushima Faculty of Medicine signed an academic exchange agreement with the Institute of Medicine of Tribhuvan University (Kathmandu, Nepal).

The interaction between Tokushima’s Faculty of Medicine and Tribhuvan’s Institute of Medicine started when Associate Professor Takeshi Naito stayed six months in Kathmandu from October 1984 as an instructor in ophthalmology, involved in establishing a treatment system at the Tribhuvan University’s Centre for Ophthalmic Studies. Since then, the engagement between the universities continued for nearly thirty years in the field of ophthalmology, and in March 2012, the universities signed an agreement between their ophthalmology departments. The recent interdepartmental agreement between the medical schools is expected to result in academic exchanges in a range of fields.
