2012-11-14

The 9th University of Tokushima International Coordination Symposium was held on November 2. Former international students were invited to the symposium to talk about their contributions back in their own countries since graduation.

After an opening address and presentation of a certificate of appreciation from President Kagawa and an explanation of the purpose of the symposium from Yoshihisa Takaishi, Director of the International Center, three former international students talked about their life at Tokushima, their research during their study in Japan, and their current work. They spoke about the importance of the current moment and the people around them and of learning Japanese to understand Japanese culture and society. The audience of around 80 people listened intently to their words. After the talks there was a panel discussion, with an exchange of views about the university’s international activities.
